YOU can always spot an obsessive plant collector by their behaviour when they move house. Josephine Pickett- Baker, a confirmed foliage fanatic, hired a separate lorry to safely transport her collection of mature bamboos, cordylines, phormiums, agaves and tree ferns to her new home in Peckham seven years ago. And naturally, she and her husband transformed the long, narrow back garden before they touched the house, because all Josephine's precious charges had to be comfortably settled in new terrain as fast as possible.
The previous owners had used part of the garden as a car park, so much of it was covered with tarmac.
