SINCE large budget cuts are looming over us again at the Los Angeles Unified School District, I wanted to advise Daily News readers that school nurses have been threatened with further cutbacks in our ranks, hours and services.
Today is School Nurse Day. It is an appropriate time to tell the public why school nurses are important and what contributions they make to our schools and students.
The LAUSD has thousands of special-needs students with physical, medical and mental challenges. School nurses try to make these problems intelligible to parents, faculty and other professionals during the Individual Education ...
