Florence has decided to apply for a federal grant to build a sidewalk along Ky. 18 from Tanners Lane to Hopeful Church Road.
City Council passed a resolution Tuesday to apply for a $393,000 Transportation Enhancement Act grant to build the sidewalk. The deadline to apply for the grant is Feb. 6.
The plan includes using space on one side of the Interstate 75 overpass for a section of the sidewalk. A safety barrier would separate pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the overpass.
