Jan. 24--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Momentum from a soaring wholesale power market early last year carried PNM through a declining fourth quarter to end the year ahead of expectations, the company said Wednesday.
PNM Resources Inc., which now owns Public Service Company of New Mexico, said net earnings for 2001 were $3.77 per share of common stock, an increase of 49 percent over $2.53 per share in 2000.
"This has been an extraordinary year for our industry and for our company," said PNM chairman, president and CEO Jeff Sterba in a statement Wednesday.
