Is code (CW) fading out for an Amateur Radio requirement? Not in every country. The German Amateur Radio Society has voted to keep the Morse exams ... even if the requirement is dropped by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The National Amateur Radio Society in Germany, Deutscher Amateur Radio Club or DARC, has 65,000 members. At its fall meeting, DARC said, "Morse Telegraphy is an important means for communication. Hence, it can be argued that Morse telegraphy has Intrinsic value for Amateur Radio and is therefore worth keeping and promoting as a requirement. This position will be ...
