SALT LAKE CITY -- A solar oven made from old compact discs, a colorful rhyming children's book and a multimedia presentation on ethanol fuel are the winning entries in the Igniting Creative Energy Challenge, an educational competition administered by the National Energy Foundation and made possible by an educational grant from Johnson Controls, Inc. and the United States Energy Association.
The winners -- three students and a teacher -- will soon be on their way to the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. The hosted trip includes tickets to Olympic events and medal ceremony, opportunities to mingle with athletes and a western barbecue.
