Article: Court Sets Trial Date in ID Systems' $270,000,000 Antitrust Lawsuit Against Checkpoint Systems.

TORONTO -- ID Security Systems Canada Inc. (ID Systems) announces that its $270,000,000 antitrust lawsuit against Checkpoint Systems, Inc. has been scheduled for trial by Judge Eduardo C. Robreno of the US Federal Court.

In the lawsuit, ID Systems claims that Checkpoint maintained its monopoly by interfering with ID Systems' contract to distribute radio frequency anti-shoplifting tags made by Tokai Electronics of Japan. The Court has denied Checkpoint's motion for a summary judgment, concluding that the issues must be presented to the jury at trial.
