MAKING PREDICTIONS IS A TRICKY BUSINESS. Bill Gates' 1981 comment that "640K ought to be enough for anybody" still brings chuckles, especially since Microsoft's new Windows XP operating system soaks up about 1.5 gigabytes of disk space.
Public companies hate to make predictions and forecasts on the record. When they do, it's usually accompanied and protected by "forward looking statement" disclaimers in a press release.
Thankfully, we at CED can prognosticate and prophesize like a band of broadband Nostradamuses without worrying about such legal stipulations. We aren't really "seers," but we'll play them this month for the very first time--and will again ...
