Cape grape shipments to the UK will continue a fortnight later than last season lasting until mid March, according to Martin Dunnett, marketing director of Capespan UK.
"We are now getting back to normal after a period of very high prices for early varieties." he said. "While Prime is finishing and Superior seedless has about a fortnight left, there are good volumes of Thompson Seedless on the way.
"Because the season started 10 days late, we will have availability into March."
Dunnett expects Capespan's final UK programmes of white seedless to be up by some half a million cartons to 3.5 million, and red seeded by 200,00 cartons to 1.3 million. ...
