The Commission recommendation came after inspectors from the EU's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) found potent antibiotic drug residues, potentially risky for health, in shrimps and prawns imported from China. This suspension, which will enter into force shortly with the formal adoption of a Commission Decision, will apply at least until the end of February when the Commission is due to re-examine the situation together with Member States. The suspension means that products already on route will be allowed into the EU but will be subject to increased controls and testing by Member States. The products affected by the ban are rabbit meat, poultry meat, honey, molluscs, ...
