PHILADELPHIA -- Thomas Jefferson University today announced that Sidney Kimmel, founder and chairman of Jones Apparel Group, has donated $2.5 million to advance education and research relating to the prevention of cardiovascular disease. In recognition of Mr. Kimmel's generous gift, which will be paid over 10 years, the University will name its cardiology research and education center the Sidney Kimmel Laboratory for Preventive Cardiology.
