ABIX via COMTEX) -- The yearly pilgrimage to Mecca could bolster the business and earnings of airlines in Asia. The Mecca festival, which lasts for a month, will take place over February 2002. Garuda Indonesia predicts that 107,478 travellers to Mecca will use its services in 2002, which would be a decrease of 4 on travellers in 2001. There was approximately 1.4 million travellers to Mecca (Saudi Arabia) for the festival in 2001.
