ATLANTA, Feb 01, 2002

Flight attendants at Delta Air Lines have voted against joining the nation's largest flight-attendant union, officials said Friday.

The National Mediation Board said more than 5,500 Delta flight attendants voted to join the Association of Flight Attendants, but this was far short of the majority needed. More than 19,000 Delta attendants were eligible to mail in ballots for the election.
