This column might hitherto have appeared elsewhere in the magazine under the heading "Orthodoxy," where we deal with matters religious; "Westview"is normally devoted to secular subjects. But the distinction has been much obscured by the two realities which burst upon the world on September 11.
The first reality is the fact that we are now engaged in a religious war. The world's militant Islamists, an estimated 150 million strong, have declared war upon us--thus inextricably combining the secular and the religious.
