WHAT IS IT?
A VERY large waterfall on the border between the U.S. and Canada near Lake Ontario. It supports a vast tourist industry. Actually, it comprises two waterfalls - the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls - divided by Goat Island.
Some 12 million people visit each year to gaze at the roaring falls, eat, drink and make merry in the local town.
Niagara Falls is a gambling and honeymoon hotspot that has a casino that never closes, motels with waterbeds and plentiful burger joints.
