The winter solstice can be a less than enchanting time of the year for many camera clubs. It follows the season of nature's most exciting color months. Holiday distractions intrude into members' lives. Gift lists replace recordings of f-stops, ASA numbers and light conditions. Gray cards are abandoned for colorful greeting cards. Commuters' hours now coincide with glorious sunrises and glowing sunsets defeating all hopes of viewing them through the camera's lens.
