NEW ORLEANS _ He's no longer best known as Bill Parcells' son-in-law. Scott Pioli has become very much his own man, one of the rising stars among front-office executives in the NFL.
While just about everyone involved in the Patriots organization benefitted from the team's magical run to the Super Bowl, few will receive any more long-term benefits than Pioli.
Pioli is New England's director of player personnel. The former defensive tackle for Central Connecticut State has been with the team only two years. He was hired two years ago this month, at age 34, as the assistant director of player personnel.
