Article: FAST TRAILS, GOOD TIMES; HUNDREDS FIND CONDITIONS GOOD AT TUG HILL TOURATHON.(Local)

The moon was still visible and the sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon Saturday when Clara Bingham arrived to set up the start and finish banners for the 2002 Tug Hill Tourathon.

"It was a little before 6:30, and there were already three skiers here trying out their wax," said Bingham, a member of the Tug Hill Ski Club and race chief for the annual 25- and 50-kilometer cross-country ski races in Winona State Forest in Boylston.

By the time registration was over, another 263 skiers had signed up, ready to take on some of the fastest trails in years at the races in the Tug Hill Plateau.
