AN IVY TOPIARY dog sits by my front door, his head cocked in a jaunty way toward the driveway.
Sporting a hairdo of ivy vines with a few tendrils gone astray, he has a sassy, devil-may-care look. Black eyes and nose, made of beads, completes his doggie personality.
Every time I come home, this ivy-covered moss puppy of mine puts me in a good humor.
There's something about topiaries that make you smile. Some can even make you laugh, the way my topiary monkey does when visitors come upon him hanging from a oak tree by the porch.
