When Cady Creek Farms introduced a ready-to-go party tray with four cheeses in 2000, the company found a fast track to national sales in a Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board promotion.
John Landmeyer, sales manager of Cady Creek Farms of Green Bay, landed a spot in What's New From Wisconsin, a quarterly newsletter published by the Milk Marketing Board, that promotes Wisconsin dairy products to buyers, chefs and food editors nationwide.
"When that thing went out, my phone just didn't stop ringing. It opened up northern California to me," Landmeyer said.
In fact, the promotion boosted 2000 sales by 40 ...
