There are more than 60 breeds of goat in the world serving mainly the developing nations in the production of milk, meat, skin and fiber. The goat industry in the United States is still in its infancy, but with a promising trend for growth. The meat goat market is still not well-organized. However, the industry is showing promising growth, especially in the southern United States.
