Butyl acetate used as solvent mainly is also applied in perfume industry in recent years. It is synthesized directly from acetic acid and butyl alcohol all along. Before the year of 1995, tightened supply of butyl acetate in China's market was caused by shortage in supply of both glacial acetic acid and butyl alcohol, namely demand of butyl acetate exceeded supply in market. In 1997, output volume of glacial acetic acid was amounted to 510 400 tons, and rocketed to 865 000 tons in 2000. Meanwhile, the output of butyl alcohol amounted to 119 000tons, namely the total resource amount of butyl alcohol reached 300 thousand tons by adding imported 167 000 tons in 2000. The ...
