The Patriots' first bit of offseason business will take place today, when the team must submit a list of five names to be exposed in the Houston Texans expansion draft.
Those who might land on the list include Ted Johnson, Willie McGinest, Andy Katzenmoyer, Charles Johnson and Terrance Shaw. The draft will be held Feb. 18.
Given the high 2002 salary cap numbers of McGinest ($8.3 million) and Johnson ($6.5 million), the Pats would probably like the Texans to take one of those players.
However, if the Texans don't take them, the Pats will likely release one or both prior to March 1 (when each are due a $1 million roster bonus). If the Texans were ...
