NEW YORK-WestPoint Stevens, which is expected to introduce its 275-thread-count cotton-rich-blend sheets next month, seems to be setting the tone for the next benchmark level in sheets this year.
At 275, WestPoint Stevens is adding another notch to the ever-increasing thread-count offerings. At present, 250 poly/cotton blends, supplied by the domestic mills and importers, are the mainstay of retail shelves.
Target sells Royal Legacy 250-thread-count cotton-rich full to king sheets from $13.44 to $23.44. Royal Legacy is a label under WestPoint Stevens' Martex brand.
At Bed Bath & Beyond, consumers have a choice under Springs' Wamsutta brand. ...
