FRESH warnings were given last night that a herbal remedy used to treat mild depression can counter the effects of the contraceptive pill and lead to unwanted pregnancies.
Health chiefs warned yesterday that at least two women had conceived babies while on the Pill, probably because of the effects of St John's wort.
There has been increasing evidence that the remedy - which has been dubbed 'nature's Prozac', can stop some prescription drugs from working properly.
In the UK, packets are now marked with warnings although the herb, as an unlicensed medicine, is available without prescription in health ...
