Feb. 7--Hourly employees at Harley-Davidson Inc.'s Kansas City plant have approved a new contract that will run through August 2007.
The new agreement covers about 720 local workers. It replaces an existing contract that was scheduled to expire in December 2003. That contract had provisions that allowed the two sides to agree to reopen negotiations for a new contract last fall.
Harley's union employees ratified the new agreement last week, said Ted Harris, president of Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Union Local 5-0760.
