Health Canada, the Council of Ministers of Education (CME) and four Canadian universities are currently attempting to conduct a sex survey of more than 1,000 Canadian youth. It is a controversial project, but one its backers say is urgently needed to help develop strategies to fight sexually transmitted diseases. Yet, despite the surveyors' expectation that teens will be frank about the most intimate details of their lives, officials connected with the project are unable to answer even the simplest of questions about it.
The Canadian Youth Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Study is the brainchild of the CME and is funded by Health Canada with $450,000 over 21-2 years. ...
