Neon signs might not pose a huge problem in Itasca, but trustees nonetheless are wary of turning their version of "Bedford Falls" into "Pottersville."
To study the impact of neon signs on the community's unique architectural character, trustees in November imposed a six-month ban on the installation of such signs in its historic district.
Officials saw it as a non-issue, but didn't want gaudy, ostentatious signs to sprout up around town either.
