Forget Sept. 11. Forget any lingering queasiness you might feel about seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger battling the terrorists who killed his family.
Take any unsettling similarities to current events right out of the equation, because "Collateral Damage" deserves to fail all by itself.
It's a remarkably shoddy and shallow action movie that pays lip service to the complexities of today's world, then quickly retreats into cliches so creaky they had a preview audience openly guffawing when they should have been cheering.
