Egypt has itself established a national telemedicine network with seven locations connected to a diagnostic node at the Nasser Bone Marrow Institute in Cairo. Besides Egypt, the countries in the first phase of the ArtNet telemedicine network are expected to include Ethiopia, Jordan, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia and Uganda. The first phase is also expected to link to at least two medical centres in Europe and the United States.Depending on the state of infrastructure in each country, the facilities would include: - leased line connections for high-speed transmission and on-line consultation;- distance learning;- on-the-job training and education;- ISDN circuits;- ...
