SYDNEY, Feb 8 Asia Pulse - Optiscan Imaging Ltd (ASX:OIL) today said a $A20 million ($US10.11 million) partnership deal with Pentax would accelerate the commercialisation of its technology.
The Melbourne-based biotech said it would join Japan's Asahi Optical Co Ltd, better known as the optical instruments maker Pentax, to develop a miniature, flexible endomicroscope for use in the diagnosis and management of diseases such as colon, mouth and gastric cancer.
The 18-month partnership would involve Pentax paying Optiscan a total of $US10 million ($A19.78 million) in return for access to Optiscan's patents and a 3.7 per cent stake in the company.
