MANHATTAN, Kan., Feb. 8 (AScribe Newswire) -- British cattle markets closed by last year's foot-and-mouth disease will reopen next week, but sanctions have changed the face of livestock production there. And the same thing could happen in America, according to a Kansas State University veterinarian who worked on the outbreak there last May.
Cattle markets were shut down after foot-and-mouth disease was found in February 2001. K-State veterinarian George Kennedy predicted that the year-long sanctions will alter the face of English farming. Some smaller producers won't be able to get back on their feet and will be sucked up ...
