A Lake County judge may not be able to retain her job because she called herself a judge on a key election document.
A Springfield-area judge on Wednesday ordered that Lake County Circuit Judge Mary Schostok's name be removed from the Republican ballot in the March 19 primary.
Schostok, appointed last year to the seat she is running for, appealed the ruling Thursday.
But Thursday also was the first day for absentee voting in Lake County. And with less than six weeks remaining before the primary, the situation is anything but clear.
