FEDERAL LAW SETS MINIMUM WAGE AT $3.80 AN HOUR, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- A federal law raising the minimum hourly wage to $3.80 goes into effect nationwide on April 1.
The increase will affect an estimated 300,000 Pennsylvanians who currently earn the state minimum of $3.70, according to the state Department of Labor and Industry.
The new law places Pennsylvania's minimum wage at the same rate paid in all other states.
Gov. Robert P. Casey in December 1988 signed legislation raising the minimum wage paid in the state from $3.35 to $3.70. That made Pennsylvania one of 11 states to increase its ...
