THE AMERICAN Chemistry Council (ACC) said last week it plans to develop a new security code under its Responsible Care program by June. The new code will consist of management practices to further safeguard plant sites from potential terrorist attacks and build closer relationships with law enforcement.
The ACC called on all chemical makers to review every facility for potential security concerns and to take actions to make these facilities even safer.
The formal adoption of a security code will make enhanced security activities mandatory for the trade group's member companies. Responsible Care is the industry's 14-year-old voluntary initiative for ...
