Immediately after a suicidal assault on India's Parliament a month ago, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee began reading from President George Bush's script: No compromise with terrorists or the nations that harbor them. Vajpayee's stern words were directed to Pakistan, which he accuses of sponsoring militant groups opposed to India's control of Kashmir.
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has responded to Vajpayee's demands to a surprising degree. Now it's time for India to demonstrate that Musharraf's cooperation will be rewarded.
