Students will trade in textbooks for technology in March as the Independence campus of the University of Phoenix goes book-free.
The 500-student campus will offer online all textbooks used in its classes and will charge students about $80 per class to access the material, said Rocky Sheng, director of the Independence campus. The student body at the University of Phoenix consists mostly of people already in the work force who may have families.
