Feb. 12--KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.--Behind the gates of the exclusive beach resort of Kiawah Island, among the world-famous golf courses and multi-million dollar homes, life is good.
On a recent day, all was in its place: couples riding bikes and playing tennis and foursomes on the golf course.
But residents of this island paradise are locked in a bitter struggle.
