SPANISH COMPANY LICENSES OCTANE-BOOSTING

TECHNOLOGIES FROM PHILLIPS PETROLEUM

PUERTOLLANO, Spain, March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Repsol Petroleo will use technologies licensed from Phillips Petroleum Company (NYSE: P) at its refinery here to produce high-octane unleaded motor fuels for sale in Europe.

The Spanish gasoline refinery will use Phillips Petroleum's hydrofluoric acid (HF) alkylation and Hydrisom process technologies under license with the Bartlesville, Okla.-based company. Plant start- up is scheduled for mid-1991.
