SALT LAKE CITY - One skate event, one scoring controversy.
Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze extended the Soviet/Russian dominance in pairs figure skating with a narrow victory over Canada's Jamie Sale and David Pelletier in the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Games on Monday at the Delta Center.
Lori Nichol, the Canadian pair's choreographer, said the decision left her ``ashamed'' for her sport after Sale and Pelletier appeared to skate a flawless free program yet failed to catch Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze, who had two obvious bobbles in their performance minutes before.
