OCEAN scientists in North Wales have been given a cash boost to carry out major research work in the Irish Sea.
Working with experts from the Southampton Oceanography Centre teams of deep sea boffins based at University of Wales, Bangor, will be homing in on projects which could influence the "health" of the Irish Sea and other Continental Shelf seas.
The UK Natural Environmental Council has decided to back the work, which will partly look at the impact of climate change, with grants totalling pounds 565,000.
