APPAREL GROUP TO PROTEST FEDERAL SLEEPWEAR REGS
WASHINGTON (FNS) -- Apparel industry officials are set to meet federal regulators Thursday to lobby against a plan that would require all adult sleepwear to be classified by its flammability resistance, as well as bear a fire warning label.
The Intimate Apparel Council of the American Apparel Manufacturers Association will appeal to the three-member Consumer Product Safety Commission to adopt the trade group's own warning label approach to reduce the incidence of adult sleepwear fires and to reject the approach proposed by the agency's staff.
