In its latest issue, The Nation magazine documented the domination of global media by 10 mega-corporations. Several of these "Big Ten" transnational communications companies have moved aggressively to tame the Internet and subjugate it to the homogenizing force of commercialization. Still, there remains a number of English-language, alternative websites. Here are a few corners of the Internet where you can elude the lords of global media.
