The 12th International Symposium on Lameness in Ruminants was held Jan. 9-13 in Orlando, Fla., and allowed attendees to share the latest information on ruminant lameness.
Topics included hoof biology/anatomy, nutrition and feed management, housing, diseases of the claw and claw horn, locomotion and claw trimming.

J.K. Margerison, B. Winkler and G. Stephens of the University of Plymouth at Seale Hayne, Devon, U.K., presented a paper on the effect of locomotion score and lameness on dry matter intake, feeding and general behavior of dairy cattle in England.
