UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- "A Beautiful Mind," the highly-touted Brian Grazer-Ron Howard production which received eight Academy Award(R) nominations last week in categories including Best Picture, continued to flex box office muscle over Presidents' Day weekend, taking in $9.4 million during the four-day period in 2081 theaters, with a per-theater average of $4530. Its cume has now reached an impressive $125.7 million.
The film is now playing in 139 fewer theaters than last weekend, but its box office take actually jumped 40% from last week in a four-day to four-day comparison.
