Evidence is growing that children and adolescents are often casualties of violence in the home. Research abounds on the effects of domestic violence on adult women and there is a growing awareness of the damage inflicted on the children in these homes. Whether physical victims of violence or emotional victims of witnessing the violence, the effect on children is tragic and, if left unaddressed, could last a lifetime.
