Feb. 19--For Paula Collins, the assignment to craft a series of murals commemorating Fort Worth's first African-American business district meant delving into local history.
"I've done several historical pieces, and I enjoy that," she says.
Collins, 55, of Denton, was chosen from about 60 artists who submitted proposals through a national competition to create a piece of commemorative public art for Fort Worth's new Intermodal Transportation Center.
