President Bush was overly broad the other week when he talked about the "Axis of Evil" of Iraq, Iran and North Korea. After all, while the regimes in Iraq and Iran are both bad, the two nations are bloody enemies. And North Korea is an atheistic, Stalinist state. But now the president is quite right to especially single out Iraq. His father was wrong not to topple Saddam Hussein in the Gulf War, though we can understand why he felt that coalition politics militated against it.
