PAUL LAMBERT yesterday admitted that the dream of a return to the Champions League winners' rostrum he graced with Borussia Dortmund played a major part in his decision to perform a contractual U-turn with Celtic.
The retired Scotland star initially spurned advances because he worried about his fitness, or a perception that he would just be 'hanging around' picking up inflated sums of money for a veteran footballer.
Not that he cared to name any.
But, by the time Martin O'Neill had convinced him of his on-field prowess and the esteem in which every other employee at Celtic Park holds him, he changed his mind.
