The global MDI market demand has made a drastic growth and the output of aniline has also increased fast since the mid-1980s. The total aniline capacity in the world is more than 2.70 million t/a and the output is around 2.30 million tons today. It is expected that the aniline capacity in the world will reach 3.63 million t/a and the market demand will be 2.90 million tons in 2005.
China started the aniline production rather late. In spite of a rapid expansion, the proportion in the global capacity is still very low.
